10 Tips To Choosing An Outdoor Vape Device

10 Tips To Choosing An Outdoor Vape Device

The problem with standard e-devices is that they can easily become clogged up with dirt and sand, or are easily broken when dropped.

If you love the great outdoors, or perhaps spend a lot of your time out and about then it is well worth the effort looking to see what equipment you should have.

Lets look at some tips/features to help you choose an outdoor vape device.

1. Does Your Vape Have A Drip Tip Cover?

One of the easiest ways to stop debris from getting into your device is a drip tip cover or cap.

They are not that expensive to buy, so there really isn’t much reason not to add it to your list of accessories.

2. How Long Will Your Battery Last?

If you know that you are going to be out and about for long periods of time then you will need a device that offers a long battery life.

You should look for a battery with a large mAh as this in theory should last longer, but also consider the wattage you use when vaping too.

The higher the wattage the quicker you are going to run the battery down on your device.

If you are going camping and know that you won’t be able to charge your device I would suggest lowering the wattage, using a higher resistance, and perhaps using a mouth-to-lung style of vaping. These steps should ensure a longer battery life.

3. Does Your Vape Have An ECO Mode?

There are vape devices that come with an ECO mode that when switched on will ensure your battery lasts longer between charges.

The one issue with this battery saving feature is that the vape will be less satisfying.

4. Is The Build Construction And Coating Strong?

If you are spending a lot of time outdoors you wont want to be choosing a device that is going to break at the slightest touch.

You should look for a tank that is covered with a metal or solid material. I would also suggest carrying around a spare glass or two just in case the unthinkable happens. Many vape kits will have a spare glass, but if not you can pick them up pretty cheaply.

If you do not currently have a strong tank, and do not wish to buy one then you may consider purchasing a silicone vape band. This will go around your tank, and while not able to offer the same amount of protection as a steel case it is better than having no protection at all.

For mods, you can buy some with a tough rubber or steel finish, which can protect it from scratches and bumps.

5. Make Sure The Vape Device Is Dust-Proof, Shock Proof and Water Proof

Taking the last tip a little further, there are some devices now available that are much more than simply robust in nature.

Many now offer other features, and can be dust-proof, shock proof and water proof, which protects against pretty much anything you can throw at it.

6. What Is The Grip Like?

If you are out and about in the heat you definitely wont want to be holding onto anything smooth and shiny. Chances are if you get the slightest bit sweaty your e-cig is ending up on the floor.

Luckily many of the more robust devices are covered with a non-slip rubber that prevents these accidents from occurring.

7. Does It Have A Lanyard?

Lanyards may not be cool, and chances are you have left it inside the box your vape came in.

However, if you are planning on using your vape on a trek then it will be worth adding it so that your device stays safely on your wrist.

8. Bigger Is Not Always Better

Typically larger vape devices will use more power, so will have a shorter battery life. Plus, will take up more of that valuable space while out and about.

It may be worth choosing a smaller vape for use outdoors.

9. Avoid Bubble Glass When Buying Vape Extenders

Tanks are typically small so you will likely want to carry spare vape glasses around with you.

The capacity of the glass will vary, but I would avoid choosing a glass that goes outwards, as they are much easier to break, you should choose one that goes straight up instead.

10. Consider External Batteries

It is an unfortunate fact that your batteries wont last forever, so unless you have access to electricity you wont be able to charge your device.

An alternative would be to carry around external batteries that can be charged at home for use when they are needed.

In Conclusion

There are certain features you need if you are spending a lot of time outdoors and wish to experience the best vape experience possible.

Hopefully you now have a better idea of what you should be looking for.
